Breaking comes out of Hip-Hop culture. It combines power, technique, rhythm, creativity and improvisation — a professional competitive sport, and a culture that expresses who you are through body, music and style.
We are three girls learning Breaking, and we love it. We are also the founders of BR3AK.
What girls want to wear for Breaking is not what the market offers, and we want to make the Breaking clothing we love with our own hands. That is the spirit of BR3AK, and it is what we were already doing: we cross the lines other people drew. At the age when we were supposed to just go to school and follow the rules, we went ahead and founded BR3AK.

What everyone knows is not the limit
The name BR3AK comes from BREAK.
We put the number 3 where the letter E should be, so the name breaks its own spelling before it says anything else.
The 3 carries two meanings: the creative twist in the name, and the three founders who love Breaking.
That "Break" is not only the movement and the culture of Breaking. It stands for a refusal to be held by fixed form — making new possibilities out of the existing rules.
The essence of Breaking is Break.
Something out of nothing. Possibility out of constraint.
Every Breaker builds their own Style out of music, movement and imagination, breaking past the established way to make a new expression.

BUILT FOR BREAKING
Performance made for Breaking
Breaking is a professional competitive sport with its own training, its own formats and its own international stage. No performance apparel brand has ever been built for it.
Breakers wear gear designed for other sports, or streetwear made to look good, and then work around it: tuck the top in before stepping up, stop mid-session to pull it back down, deal with the worn-through patches themselves.
All of that gets treated as normal, instead of as a problem nobody has solved.
BR3AK starts there. A top that slides down in a handstand or a freeze. Floor work grinding through the shoulders, the back and the knees. Fabric that catches on a spin instead of releasing. Range of motion eaten by an armhole or a rise. These conditions belong to Breaking, and only a brand starting from Breaking treats them as where the design begins.
And in Breaking, the first specification of performance is safety. Rotation is the core of the sport, and the body meets the floor at the back, the shoulders, the hips, the knees and the elbows. So BR3AK uses no metal clasps, no rigid hardware, and nothing loose enough to catch. What holds a garment in place has to come from the cloth itself, not from a part added onto it.
At BR3AK, performance is not an adjective. It is a specification that has to be proven.

The design core of BR3AK is one line: performance comes first, and style grows out of it.
Performance comes first — it has to actually improve how you move, not just look like performance wear. Breaking is a sport you bet your body on, and a garment has to hold up.
Re-Form is the design language BR3AK uses to build that performance.
A garment does not need one fixed form. Just as Breaking has no single move and no single Style, clothing can change its form and the way it is worn to suit the movement, the occasion, the environment, the style and the wearer.
A wide top that has to be held in place for a freeze and released for the walk home is not two garments. It is one garment with two forms. A performance problem, answered by changing form.
So the structure that links them has to come off as well. Attached is one form. Detached is another. And once it is off, it can go onto something else. A link should not belong to a single garment. It should be able to stand on its own.
And Style is never decoration. In Breaking, Style is the highest credit you can be given — every Breaker builds one out of music, movement and imagination. So a change of form has to end up serving the person wearing it.
